Pocket Date Night
Privacy policy
We respect your privacy and collect only what we need to serve you and your marriage. Here's what we collect through our website and Pocket Date Night date nights, and how we use it.
What we collect
- When you use a date night: the names you enter and your progress are saved only on your own phone, so you can pick up where you left off. They aren't sent to us.
- When you give us your email (to start the free Time Machine date night or to receive your date card): your email address, your names, the date night you used, and any answers you choose to give about attending church or serving as a church leader.
- Your date card: if you email yourselves your date card, we send the card image to your inbox, including anything you added to it, like a photo or drawings. We don't keep a copy of the card or your photo.
- Your stories: if you share a story at the end of a date night, we receive what you write, the date night, and your first names if you choose to include them. Your church sees stories from its own couples, and we see all stories. If you check that your church may share your story, they may share it publicly; otherwise it stays private.
- Your year of date nights: your finished date cards are saved only on your own phone. If you ask for a year-end recap email, we keep your email address, your names, and which date nights you finished and when, so we can send it in December. You can stop it anytime with the link in the email.
- Monthly date night emails: if you sign up for monthly date nights from your church, we keep your names, your email address (and your spouse's, if you add it), and which church you signed up with, so we can send you a date night each month on your church's behalf. Your church sees how many people have signed up, but not your email address. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Day-before reminders and the 7-day challenge: if you ask for a teaser before a planned date or join the 7-day connection challenge, we keep your email address, your names, and the details needed to send those emails. A day-before reminder is deleted after it's sent, and challenge details are deleted within 30 days.
- Date night counts: when a date night is finished, we count it for that kit and church. The count doesn't include your name, email, or any personal information.
- Church accounts: for church leaders who log in, we keep your email address and your church's details. Passwords are stored in a scrambled, one-way form that no one, including us, can read. We send login and password-reset emails only when you ask for them.
- Custom date night requests: if you request a custom date night, we receive the contact and event details you enter, like your name, email, phone, church, and plans. We use them only to follow up with you about your request.
- Feedback: if you rate a date night at the end, we receive your star ratings, any comment you write, which date night you used, whether it was a night out or in, and which church link it came from. Feedback is anonymous: it doesn't include your name or email. We use it only to improve our date nights, and churches don't see it.
How we use it
- To email you your date card when you ask for it.
- To send you marriage encouragement from Pocket Date Night, only if you check the box asking for it.
- If you tell us you're a pastor or church leader, we may reach out personally about resources for your church.
- Churches see only how many date nights their couples have completed. They don't receive your email or names.
Who we share it with
- We never sell your information.
- We use trusted services to run the date nights and send email, including Cloudflare (hosting), Resend (sending date card emails), and Kajabi (our website and email newsletters). They handle your information only to provide these services to us.
Your choices
- Every encouragement email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
- To have your information removed, email us at [email protected] and we'll delete it.
Who our date nights are for
- Pocket Date Night is made for married couples. Our date nights are not intended for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Questions
- Email us anytime at [email protected]. If we update this policy, we'll change the date below.
