Get started
Meet at the door.Meet in the kitchen. A seven-second (or longer) kiss, and tell each other how excited you are for tonight.
A soft chime plays at seven seconds.
Makes about 3 dozen. Using store-bought dough? Follow the package and skip to the next step.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and both sugars until creamy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then the vanilla.
- Stir in the flour mixture a little at a time, then fold in the chips.
- Drop rounded spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet, 2 inches apart.
- Bake 9 to 11 minutes until the edges are golden. The oven timer is on the Baking step.
While you mix, the conversation starters on the next step will take you back to when you fell in love.
Then head to dinner. "Remember when" is next, for the drive.
Remember when
Take turns finishing these sentences.
- I first realized I had a crush on you when…
- My favorite memory with you is…
- I remember laughing with you when…
- If I could relive any moment with you, it would be…
DinnerBaking: Hand in Hand
It keeps running if you move to other steps, and chimes when the cookies are done.
Once you've ordered, let's heat up the connection! Now let's heat up the connection! For each pair, ask which one reminds your spouse of you, and why.
Example: Milk and cookies. "You remind me of cookies because you're so sweet." Or, "You remind me of milk, because you're good for me."
Power couple
Post a picture of the two of you enjoying your date night. Use this caption to encourage other married couples to plan a night of their own.
Your personalized date card is waiting at the end of the kit, too.
Chill
Take your time and linger at the table. (On the way home, stop and pick up your cookies!)While the sweet aroma fills the kitchen, let the cookies cool. Use the pause to talk about how your different gifts fit together and make you a true power couple.
- One strength I see in you that I don't have is…
- We make a great team when…
- A time our differences made us stronger was…
- One way I want to lean on your gifts this year is…
Cuddle
Head home, pour a glass of milk, grab the cookies you brought home,Pour a glass of milk, cuddle up in bed (cookies in bed are okay, you're adults), and put on the playlist.
Don't let the cookiesthe cookies be the sweetest part of your night. Pick up where the date started and set a new record for how long (and how passionately) you can kiss.
Simply enjoy the moment together, then keep the night going and continue the fun.
