Open the case file
Breaking news: a kiss has gone missing, and you two are the only detectives on the case. Check these off ahead of time.
Your detective badges
No kiss to start tonight. It's missing, remember? First, every detective needs a name, and your spouse picks yours. Tap until you find the perfect one, or type your own.
Read each name out loud in your best old-movie detective voice.
Follow the clues
Five sealed clues. To open each one, a detective has to answer a question about their spouse. Your spouse decides if you got it right.
Question the suspects
Six usual suspects were seen near the scene. Read each alibi out loud, talk through the question together, then decide: guilty or not guilty?
The case file: us
Every good detective studies the history. Tonight, the history is your marriage. Take turns finishing these, starting with {H}.
- The first clue that I liked you was…
- The most mysterious thing about you when we met was…
- Something about you I've figured out over the years is…
- A little thing you do that I'd notice right away if it went missing is…
- If our marriage were a mystery novel, the title would be…
Who stole the kiss?
You've followed the clues and questioned every suspect. Agree together on the guilty party, then reveal the truth.
Here's the twist: every suspect took a little. A rushed morning, a glowing phone, one more episode, a full calendar. Nobody stole the kiss all at once. It slipped away a few seconds at a time.
The good news? A missing kiss is easy to recover. It's been right here, waiting on you two all along.
"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, and the glory of kings to search it out."PROVERBS 25:2 (BSB)
Hold hands and pray together. Thank God for your marriage, and ask Him to help you guard your time together this week, out loud or silently.
Case closed
Every mystery ends with the stolen treasure returned. Tonight, that treasure is a kiss.
Pick one way you'll keep the kiss from going missing again.
- My favorite clue tonight was…
- This week, one way I'll protect our time together is…
Driver, eyes on the road. Detectives drive safely.
Seven seconds to close the case. Overtime is allowed.
The kiss has been recovered. End the night the way every great mystery ends: the two detectives, together, sealing it with a kiss.
